On one of our evenings in Sinaia, the Chair held a dinner party for all of the delegations, complete with a Romanian band. As you can see from the photographs, we enjoyed the evening immensely.
On several nights the Chair organized activities for us. One night we experienced a Romanian Barbque under the star filled sky canopy of the Romanian night. Another night there was a pool party at the hotel. Here are some photos from that party.
Part of our trip was spent taking day trips from Sinaia. It is important to remember that the infrastructue in many countries of Central and Eastern Europe are not as developed as in Western Europe or the U.S. Driving distances that take only an hour can take much longer and patience is needed. Our bus was air conditioned and the rides were interesting. DN1, the main highway in Romania is one lane in each direction in most places and during the summer months there is road construction. So...Be Patient! There are so many wonderful things to see along the way.
