A Trip To the Mountains in Busteni

One of our days in Romania was spent in the mountains near the village of Busteni which is approximately 15 miles up the Prahova river valley from Sinaia. We took the 15 minute cable car ride to the top of Caraiman at about 6500 feet above sea level. Here are some photographs of the cable car ride and the mountain top. The mountain is inhabited by shepherds and the weather station. Popular for hiking in summer and famous for skiing in the winter months. A breathtaking sight.
